PITTSBURGH, October 16, 1999 - Bayer Corporation's Industrial Chemicals Division today announced several personnel changes, including the promotions of Steve Hess and Joe Morrison in the Ion Exchange Resins and Water Treatment Chemicals Group, and the addition of Angela Norris as the group's new marketing specialist.
Steve Hess, a 21-year veteran product manager for multiple products within Bayer's Industrial Chemicals Division, has been promoted to Regional Sales and Product Manager for Bayer Water Treatment Chemicals. In his new position, Hess will oversee customer accounts in the U.S. Midwest and Eastern sales territories.
Joe Morrison, a 27-year veteran technical representative for multiple products within the Industrial Chemicals Division, has been promoted to Manager, Technical Service and Application Development for all ion exchange resins and water treatment chemicals.
Morrison will also be instrumental in conducting workshops on the health, environment and safety issues regarding hydrazine water treatment chemicals.
"These new positions help strengthen Bayer's focus on selling hydrazine and other specialty products to the utility industry, with emphasis on our commitment to Responsible Care®," said Charles E. Fluharty, Business Unit Manager, Ion Exchange Resins and Water Treatment Chemicals.
In addition to these staff promotions, Bayer also announces the addition of Angela Norris as the group's marketing specialist. Norris comes to Bayer from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. At Bayer, Norris will oversee Web projects - including electronic media - as well as marketing communications, and product sample fulfillment.

"Angela has been instrumental in the creation of our Web-based purchasing site for the ion exchange and water treatment products.
